nerdI was the biggest nerd in the world when I was a kid. I sucked at sports, read comic books, drew all the time and loved to write….all of this translates into the word nerd.

Need proof?

I prefer dork, as I was smart enough for nerd status but tried to act like I was dumb so that people would like me, which is probably why I now look at people like they’re crazy when they say stupid shit because I know I’m smarter than them.

(Today’s Bonus word is Arrogant, which everyone who knows me knows that I’ve never tried to hide that shit)

When I look at our society today and think of popular shows like Big Bang Theory, the fashion trend of Geek Chic and knowing that people are coming out of their nerd closets proclaiming their dorkiness for the entire world to see it makes me think to myself ‘Dammit! I was born in the wrong era!’

Because I would have rocked the hell outta Geek Chic for one reason alone; those were my damn clothes. I wasn’t trying to be hip and look like a nerd, I was one.

Hell, I’m still one.

And I spent a large majority of my youth rejecting who I was so that I could be accepted by others.

Of course, I don’t have to tell you that the shit didn’t work (but I’ll tell you anyway). And I learned from that time in my life to always represent who I am to everyone and if they don’t like it they can kiss my nerdy black ass.

So today I want you all to raise your glasses to all the nerds, geeks, dorks, weirdos and freaks of the world because you may think they’re strange now but in a few years you’ll be spending hundreds of dollars on trying to look just like them.

It’s better to just be yourself from the jump, don’t you think?

I was a bully all during my youth. I felt it was necessary to preserve the existence of the nerd population. You know…The ying-yang factor. I enjoyed whipping the piss out of them. I thought I was doing the right thing until I saw another person get bullied. I was totally upset. The bully was actually getting money from them. Damn, why didn’t I think of that. My turf has never been the same after that. Thank god for you nerds. 🙂

Who am I kidding. I was also a big nerd through-out my childhood. Now I’m a hot 40 year old who has way too much time on my hands. Enjoy life. 🙂
